Welcome to our Renaissance/Pirate costume advanced search facility. The purpose of this page is to help you quickly and easily find the pirate costume you're looking for.
The style most people are familiar with as a "Renaissance Pirate" outfit is actually more in line with the styles during the 1600's. During this era, often referred to as "Elizabethan or Shakespearean", the clothing style of Queen Elizabeth was often imitated.
This era includes Spanish court style of the Conquistadors, and most of the bucaneer/pirate era, as well as the ornate styles and oppulent fabrics of Dutch, Flemish and Portugese merchants.
The popularity of the Pirate costume began its increase after the first release of the Pirates of the Carribean movie and continues to increase in popularity, even today.
For the guys, these costumes can look good even without the Johnny Depp "guyliner".
